The town of Haskovo is located in South-Central Bulgaria near the main road from Central Europe to Turkey. It is an adminsitartative centre of district. Haskovo is 230km east of Sofia and 230km west of Bourgas and sea resort Sunny Beach.
The visitors of Haskovo will be attracted by the pleasant atmosphere of the region and by the healing Haskovo mineral springs. Place of interest is also picturesque park Kenane - a splendid oak forest with a spacious park, restaurants, tennis grounds, houses for recreation.

Haskovo municipality is located in the central part of Southern Bulgaria and occupies the most western part of Haskovo county. It is located on a territory of 737 square meters, which is 13% of the territory of Haskovo county. Its geographic location is extremely favourable and important.
Haskovo municipality includes the town of Haskovo and 35 villages. It is a transport cross road between Europe, the Near East and the Middle East, which is a good prerequisite for an international commercial and cultural exchange. The basic bus and railway connections between the entrance and the exit boundary points in Bulgaria, which determine to a great extent the successful trade with Republic of Greece and Republic of Turkey, are located in it.

Two railroad lines cross the territory of the municipality: Sofia - Svilengrad / I railroad line according to national standard / and Ruse - Podkova / IV railroad line /. The traffic capacity of I railroad line is 82 trains for a twenty-four-hour period and that of the IV railroad line is 34 trains for the same period. The extent of use of I railroad line is 45% and that of ІV - 55%. The total length of the railroad network crossing Haskovo municipality is 38 km and its total width is 430 mm. The density of the railroad network is 5.1 km/100 sq.km.

It’s a pity that the town of Haskovo is not connected through direct railways with the major municipalities in the country. The most convenient one is the railway station of Stara Zagora, which is about 50km from Haskovo.

The airlines of Haskovo airport are not functioning due to the lack of sufficient volume of passenger and cargo traffic.
