Chelopek

The village of Chelopek (Vratsa District) is located in North-West Bulgaria and is included in Municipality Vratsa. It is settled in In Stara Planina mountain, below \"Okolchiza\" peak at 10km from town of Vratsa. Up to the village is leading a pictorial and sinuous road. The history of the village is glorious and heroic. There, on the rocky ridges are resounding the steps of the brave Botev`s rebels, which fight for the Bulgarian freedom in the dark times of the Ottoman empire. The village of Chelopek offers all conditions for cultural tourism. Here is made eco-trail, which is beginning near the museum-house of Grandmother Iliiza and afterwards passes trough a nice forest place. The eco-trail is 800 m. long and can be passed for 40 min. An amazing panorama view is opening from the top of the hill, where the eco-trail finishes with a shelter. Distance to capital city: 55.682 km from Sofia Area size of Village of Chelopek: 20.811km2
